Here is the eleventh interview of our series #yourmobilityvision.
#yourmobilityvision is all about showing what the mobility of the future looks like by introducing companies, people behind them, researchers and institutions operating in our truly wonderful sector.
In this interview we are talking to Alex Barnes, CEO & Co-Founder at Lanterne.
What is your company’s vision and how do you embrace it in your everyday doing?
Lanterne’s (lanterne.ai) vision is to make data useful for everyone. To achieve this, we generate accurate, interpretable and actionable insights from data. We’re focused on enabling a productive and sustainable mobility economy.
What is the core business of your company?
At our core, we’re a team of data scientists and geospatial analysts that specialise in building machine learning-powered applications. To support micromobility, we have built a demand prediction and fleet optimisation tool, which helps operators to minimise their operational costs and maximise their revenue.
What is special about your company? What are the aspects you are particularly proud of?
We have a tremendously talented team that excels at tackling difficult geospatial data problems. Most recently, we created a unique machine learning model which serves demand predictions to operators. I am particularly proud of our culture of respect, our emphasis on creativity, and our relentless focus on product development. We’ve also been working closely with several vehicle-share operators, and I’ve been really proud of the team’s ability to support a range of operators with their specific needs.
What is the impact you would like to have on the mobility of the future?
We want to give the mobility sector the data products and tools it needs to succeed and perfect its operations, particularly to accelerate towards a sustainable, decongested transport system across the UK, Europe and the world.
